What the Manual Spacebar Test Records
The Manual Spacebar Test counts accepted Space key presses while the ending is controlled by an unlimited Stop action or a custom duration.
The first accepted press starts the timer and counts. Holding the key does not create accepted repeated presses because browser auto-repeat is ignored.
Manual Press-Rate Calculation
Presses per second = total accepted presses ÷ actual elapsed seconds
Unlimited mode uses the time between the first press and Stop. A custom-duration mode uses the entered number of seconds.
Unlimited and Custom-Time Modes
- Unlimited: finish the attempt with Stop.
- Custom time: enter a positive duration before starting.
- Separate records: unlimited and custom durations keep different history keys.
Comparing Manual Spacebar Results
Compare attempts only when the duration, stopping rule, and keyboard setup match. The recent-results panel shows elapsed time with every stored attempt.
Result Scope and Limitations
The tool reports accepted presses, elapsed time, and average presses per second. It does not calculate endurance, consistency, reaction time, or keyboard condition.
