2 Second CPS Test

The 2-second clicks-per-second (CPS) test is a burst benchmark: it captures how quickly you can accelerate from the first click and maintain speed for a very short window. It’s ideal for comparing click techniques and spotting whether your mouse registers fast taps cleanly.

What this test measures?

Because 2 seconds is short, the score is dominated by reaction time, finger speed, and button actuation. If your first few clicks are delayed, your average CPS drops noticeably - even if you finish strong.

Technique notes

Butterfly clicking can perform well here because you can alternate fingers immediately. Jitter clicking can spike high, but it’s easier to lose control. Standard clicking is slower but consistent - use it as a baseline.

Micro‑practice routine

Run 3 warm-up attempts, then do 5 measured tries with 30 seconds rest. Focus on a smooth, repeatable motion. If you feel tension building, stop - short tests reward efficiency more than force.

FAQ

Why do my results swing a lot? Small timing changes matter more in 2 seconds.

Should I grip the mouse tighter? No - tight grip usually reduces speed and control.
